Roman Games
Children from poor Roman families had to work hard, but they still found some time to play.
Children from rich Roman families did not have to work as the slaves did all the work in the house. They had lots of time to play.
The Romans favourite toys and games were:
Balls Bats Board games Hobbyhorses Kites Models of people Models of animals Hoops Stilts Knucklebones
Boy's Games
War games Wooden sword fights Wrestling Tag
Girl's Games
Rag dolls Wax dolls Board games
Children also played with their pets
Dogs Pigeons Ducks Quail Geese Monkeys - though these were rare Cats after 100AD
