[T]his time,
Her journey through the streets had been uneventfull, if that was how you described jeering shouts and insults. Haddasah wondered how they could be so insolent, if they had no slaves they would have to do the work themselves and that would not please them. But you did not have to treat a slave nicely to get them to work for you. How hopeless and greedy the heart of man, no respect for life and others living it.
Althoughout she had kept her head down so as not to draw attention to herself. But as the group stoppd she tripped into the woman infront, "I'm so sorry." She stood up hurridly but the woman was not angry instead she gave her a pitying look. Usually that would have made her slap the woman, she did not need people pitying her, but in her current situation and kindness was welcomed warmly. She smiled gently back and looked up again.
[T]his place
They were in a huge courtyard with rows of columns on all sides, Roman citizens walked here and there in a distinguished haste. Sellers were haggaling over prices and buyers filled with their purses. Senators pushed through crowds and people worshiped in the temples.
Why here Lord? How can I keep my faith strong here? They worship everything and anything? I'm not strong enough Lord, they will savage me!
She realised they were at some sort of stage and people were gathered around shouting large sums of money. On the stage was a well muscled man, with vicious eyes, he seemed ready to kill anyone in his path. She guessed he would be taken away to be a gladiator. She was right and slowly the line moved slowly down until it was only three people until her.
