Basilica The main entrance consists if 5 openings scanned by piers, which lead to an uncovered vestibule, to the south of this room is a deep well for water. The vestibule leads to the real entrance for the Basilica which has a facade raised up on four steps, with four iconic clumns flanked by 2 doors. The interior has a nave and two aisles, the nave is bordered on it's four sides by 28 large columns, each built with tiles. The back wall is occupied with by a tribunal a podium with an elevation of two superposed tiers of 6 columns. There are two rooms at the sides and between these two rooms is the tribunal, where judges directs trials and pronounced verdicts. Justic was administered here, and buissness meetings could be held here to. Graffiti; both erotic, witty and political, if found on the outside of the building. Moderator: Haddasah |

Temple of Apollo The imposing religous complex stands along the western side of the forum. The temple itself stands at the center of a peristyle of 48 columns, with the entrance on the south side from the Via Marina. It is enclosed in a wall, so that people cannot peer in from the road outside. The columns are surronded with a frieze of griffons supporting garlands. A bronze statue of Apollo, god of the sun and patron of musicians and poets, with his bow stands on the east side. While on the west is a statue of hisn sister Diana, goddess of the hunt. On the east side there is also a herm depicting a youthful Hermes. Inside it is paved with a central carpet of rhombs in polychrome stone mosaic bordered by three bands. Moderator: Haddasah |

Horrea An open porticio, it faces the forum square and on the facade has 8 large piers in brick which frame 8 entrances. It houses the warehouses and the grain market. Moderator: Haddasah |

Temple of Jupiter Dedicated to the God Jupiter, called dies pater, "shining father". He is a god of light and sky, and protector of the state and its laws. The temple is prostyle with 6 corinthian columns on the the front and 3 on each side. The steps are divided into 2 flights with the alter set on a center platform. Macellum The food market of Pompeii, stands in the North0east corner of the Forum. The shops decrease in depth from North to South. The building has 3 entrances; the main one on the west side and devided into two passageways. The other two are on the South and East side. A small coutyard of 12 bases is hidden in the mass of stalls and is used as a fish market. Fish are cleane din the foutain leaving scales and fins in the bottom of the once clear water. Sanctuary of the Lares Publici A large unroofed attrium with a vast apse that covers the back wall. Opus sectile stype pavment lines the floor and a central alter stands above it. Statues stand in niches in the walls, made of pure white marble. A place of refuge and safety. Moderator: Haddasah |

Temple of Vespasian The entrance leads to a vestibule and then a court fronted with four columns. A marble altar sits in the courtyard with fresoes on all sides. The temple is dedicated to Emperor Vespasian. Moderator: Haddasah |

Building of Eumachia A large building found on the eastern side of the Forum. It is preceded by a portico with two tiers of columns. The entrance is framed with a marble cornice decorated with scrolls and birds. Busts of Roman Emperors line the walls and descriptions of their achevments are negraved below.
